This week has been rather good. Mr Tweetheart hasn’t worked much which does alot for my sanity!
Zoe bought this two dollar fairy dress from the op shop. I can’t believe I said ‘no’ to the Barbie car.

Riding on the Ginger Train got the big thumbs up

We went bike riding of one kind… (note the matching cheesy smiles!)

and another.

How cute is this old bike? I’m not sure if we should ‘refurb’ it or keep it original. What do you think? I want it red!

The kids are wearing their bathers or ’swimming costumes’ (as Tate says) in preparation for the pool. We went and booked in for swimming lessons. They start tomorrow! I hope it goes well. They haven’t been to a lesson in 2 years or so. Whoops. Where did that time go?

We went up to Eumundi markets yesterday. We got there fairly late, but just in time for a pony ride. UNFORTUNATELY I didn’t have my camera, because the smiles on those faces were priceless. Miniature ponies are SUPER cute. Bringing a smile to MY face was the most amazing rocky road! Macadamia rocky road, no less. Honestly the BEST I have had. How am I to resist a trip up there on Saturday for more?

Oh yes, we are liking the Sunshine Coast!

So I started writing this big post about all the places we’ve been and the things we’ve done. There is so much though! I’ll start small.
All in all it is going great. The couple’s counselling we needed was this trip. The kiddies are happy and healthy. Sure, there are more bruises and scabs than I’ve ever seen on the two of them, but that can only mean one thing…. Adventure!
Now I have this web connection sorted I’ll be pottering around here, letting you know about my various ‘entertaining kids in the car’ techniques, crafty endeavours and my exciting business ideas.
I’ve just been on google reader catching up on SO many blogs, joys of joys. I have so much to share. I just have to get it down! Here are a few pics from the trip to get started.

Zoe the shadow girl. This was just after we saw the dolphins.

The three cousins and the very tired butterfly

Fishing in Sydney

Puddles in Byron Bay
Yep, we’re having fun. I do wish you were here though!

Um, sorry about that. Yes, I’m still alive! I’m still having trouble with the old net connection, but I hope to be blogging again soon.

A doll named Daisy.

A million thank yous go to the wonderful, lovely and inspiring Kelly from the handmaden. A week ago I spent a happy day with a few Craftymamas crafting, chatting and clucking over Kelly’s wee baby Anna. Kelly taught us how to make these dolls. Not only does she make beautiful dolls, she has designed the pattern herself. Clever huh!?

A million thank yous I also send to those fabulous Moederkip folks. Nat and Paul are AWESOME! They really have something great going on there, thank you for welcoming us into your home. The clothes Nat creates are amazing. Seriously. Check them out at http://moederkip.com.au and the Craftymamas Marketplace please do!
Zoe is impressed, Daisy must have passed the test. She was invited to sleep with Miss Zoe, high praise indeed!

The count down to our trip is on. Well, kind of. We don’t have a for real, dead set leaving DATE as such. Mr Tweetheart finishes work on the 9th of April though, so probably the week following. How wonderful it will feel to be on the road!
Oh, look what’s been growing in nanny’s garden…

Zoe has been finding tiny fairies living beneath. Far too sweet.

Crochet and Chenille

and cool books I’m loving

It has been a funny few weeks. We came back from a 5 night trip to Noosa on Tuesday Night. I spent Wednesday in my PJs, only half dressing to run down to the oppy. I returned with a sunshine yellow chenille bedspread, a magnet Eric Carle game and a few newish mags. Yesterday I worked and today has been a little ho hum.

So Noosa? Not entirely my bag. Especially when raining and the waves are brown and churning up dirty foam. BUT the wedding we went up for was GORGEOUS, AMAZING, INSPIRING and just PER-FECT. Completely perfect. The Bride really looked ‘a million bucks’. As someone sitting behind me said “she looks straight out of a magazine”. She did. So did the bridesmaids. Beautiful! Tate called them princesses. All three were blonde and stunning. I must say Mr Tweetheart scrubbed up rather nicely himself.
Tate very proudly wore a red tie. Zoe wore her pettiskirt. Oh my! So many people commented how cute the kids were on the way to the wedding. Well one child in particular, I don’t think I need to name names! We walked there along the boardwalk.
After the ceremony I took photos of the kids. Lots of photos. Well, they were running away from the festivities, and honestly I find small talk and mingling with people I don’t know so well pretty hard. So frolicking about with my camera in one hand and a glass of champers in the other was great!
Most of the time those pesky children refused to look at the camera.

Occasionally I caught them.

They loved the professional sandcastle builder. Tate couldn’t understand why he wasn’t allowed to help! Bless.

What else can I report? I purchased a very expensive although PERFECT bra. Finally I’m wearing underwire again, and loving it. We went for big walks, saw a large snake in a tree, ate alot of ice cream and enjoyed the pool. Yeah, we had a good time. I promise I will NEVER ever agree to travelling with carry on luggage only EVER AGAIN.
I did crochet that Roselette top. How cute it is! I will share some pics once I’ve sewn on the buttons etc.

I’ve got it again. Just in time really. On Tuesday I finally finished that birthday shawl I started WAAAY back in January. It was late for my friend’s birthday, BUT I did give her a bunch of flowers and some home made apricot jam on the day… which is OK right?
The yarn is from The Yarn Cafe. It is called Caress and is completely gorgeous. I’m very happy that there is some left over.Very very happy. The Yarn Cafe do beautiful hand dyed semi solids that are perfect for crochet. The pattern is Eva’s Shawl over on Ravelry. EASY peasy FREE pattern!

OK. Next I’m totally going to make this free pattern from Lion Brand Yarn
They are ‘tawashis’ little scrubbers for the kitchen sink. Cuteness in the kitchen is vital. Well for me it is. Yes, I own a Hello Kitty sandwich toaster.

And one of these gorgeous blankets designed by Alicia Paulson is on the cards too. I’m planning on doing this one in the car.

Hmmmm, long weekend in Noosa crochet?? I think another newborn sized Roselette is on the cards. A wee bubby named Evie was born today and I’d love to make her one. Now I’ve typed this I’d better do it!
Yeah, knitting is still elusive for me. One day I will conquer it. But today I’m a crocheter and happy about that.
And because I can’t resist…

The pink headband is a ‘crown’. She still loves putting her hand in drinks. Bless. I miss those floor boards, but I sure do love that little girl. xox

Have you SEEN the Ice skating? I LOVE IT, I always have.
This fine, young, flamboyant figure skater had me at hello.

Johnny Weir….. I will love you forever

So I started writing an awful post about the state of my mind at the moment - not much fun for anyone. I couldn’t find the picture I wanted, so left it. I’m off to a counsellor on Monday, probably a better place to discuss things

This shirt from the lovely Nat & Paul at Moederkip arrived in the post today. Tate was SO excited!! He is such a funny little guy at the moment. We took it in turns taking photos.

The shirt is beautifully made. He loves it! so do I!

He got a real kick (couldn’t breathe for laughing) out of taking a photo of my ass. It looks wierd due to the thai fishing pants… honest!

I’m wearing the clothes I bought at the oppy today. Whoops, I went again!

I couldn’t bring myself to share a photo that showed my rubbed mascara eyes… sorry.
