February12

I took this photo DAYS ago, meaning to write this post DAYS ago too. But you know how it happens, life got in the way.
So, in my bag I found (please don’t expect anything exciting!), a mobile phone (shock!), a hello kitty coin purse given to me by Meaghan, new notebook from Lark (bought it in Daylesford on the weekend), KEYS!! ~ two sets, car keys and work keys, various hair bands for little and big girls, mainly from Sunshine & Lollipops, a moederkip card, a kids hanky, tampons (blush), a ‘nudie peg’ (blush), lip gloss, panadol, golden rough wrapper, WALLET (not shown), sunglasses (I think that’s what that black thing is), 3 envirosax. Oh! and Zoe’s ‘z’ badge.
I surprised myself with things like the panadol & tampons…. prepared, who me?
Guess who got a hair cut this week????? Me! I guess you didn’t really need to guess. It is way shorter and curlier and cooler (in both senses of the word.)
LOVE IT!
Now, head on over to VIC’s for more handbags…. go on!

I’m afraid this will be a very boring post about my current predicament. You see we’re living in a kind of limbo land, somewhere between home and our home on wheels. Belongings have been boxed up, given away or sold. This includes shoes. The current mob still needs to be pared down (or is that ‘paired down’?) to fit our most humble abode-to-be.
Here they are

And my two ‘helpers’ who loved to try on all the shoes. Which on the steps seemed a bit dangerous!

The ladybird and dinosaur were added in Picnik… we had a fun time!
So as mentioned, our ’stuff’ is SLOWLY reducing. Bag after bag heading out the door to friends or to the oppies, who are my friends too. I’m not doing too badly with the shoes. I still haven’t found my nice sandals, purchased especially for this summer *sigh*, and Zoe’s left goldie is missing this week. Still that looks like TOO MANY for a caravan trip!
I’m being strongly encouraged to get stuck into my fabric stash. Yep, the best of it came here with me. It is so difficult to decide what to bring! The poor folks left behind to sit in storage for twelve months or more. Tomorrow is D-Day. Decision making time right here. One tub to take. Shown right here on this blog tomorrow night.
Wish me luck.
Oh, and show us your shoes!
Me? I want these for the wedding we’re going to in March…

thanks to Vic and Gypsy for My Place & Yours this week!

OK, so I’m joining in again with Pip’s My Place & Yours meme again. A little late…whoops. I’ve had trouble thinking of a secret weapon, but I think this is it. Slightly embarrassing? Perhaps. Totally irrelevant? Mmmm, maybe.

YES! MY secret weapon is Sally Hansen’s Airbrush legs. I LOVE this stuff! Sure, I feel a little guilty rubbing lord-knows-what chemicals into my legs, but it makes my legs look 100 times nicer. Unlike fake tan, which used to be a friend of mine, you don’t need to remember to do it in advance. It doesn’t stink, it washes off so if you are a bit heavy-handed a face washer fixes it. Serious. This stuff is ace!
Now please don’t let this trick you into thinking I am a perfectly groomed and manicured type. Because I’m not. I don’t wear make-up very often, and my hair is usually in a pony tail. Which I’m happy with, but my pins? Yes, I like them to look somewhat nicer than their pale, imperfect selves ;) I may just reveal them tomorrow for www…
Head on over to Pippi’s to check out the other secret weapons (I’m about to). Why don’t you join in too? I dare ya!!

Now I must admit that I took part in some tidying and vacuuming before taking these photos… Here is my uninspiring BLOG HQ, which is also Mr T’s toy room. Hence the pristine surfboards, golf clubs and fishing gear.

I did throw my new rainbow cloth over the ugly but comfortable ex-caravan park chair. The sesame street pencil tin has been hanging around since I bought it in Japan in ‘99, the little sleeping creatures are from the same time in my life. I love that this space is at the furtherest end of the house. I can sneak in here and it takes the kids some time to find me. When they do find me they are entertained with a staple remover each and a piece of scrap paper. Endless fun snapping at each other with those staple removers… and only one injury so far.
Now get over to Pip’s for far more exciting places

So the inspiring Pip from Meet me at Mikes has started a meme, and I want to join in! This week’s theme is ‘On The Shelf’. An opportunity to show my sewing room shelf, which is usually seen just by me. I haven’t added anything in a while. Perhaps its time. I use the little yellow jug for ironing water, the pattern display changes, and the strawberry stuff I just like.

And this is a little spot in the bathroom…

So what’s on your shelf?
