Delightful Daylesford

February15

I know I was there a whole week ago, which seems like a long time BUT isn’t!

We had such an awesome time. We stayed at Jubilee Lake Caravan Park which is just gorgeous. There’s a lake complete with ducks, heaps of lillies and canoes to hire.

lake

There are TONNES of Blackberries, ready to pick! I was assured they hadn’t been sprayed, so pick we did! YUM.

berry-bush

There are birds to feed! Rosellas, cockys, ducks and Peacocks all visited our caravan for some seed and bread.

Zoe was so patient and quiet. Her brother struggled in the keeping quiet department.

On Saturday we got up early and visited the farmers market. Tate ate a WHOLE red capsicum on the way around. Bless him. He then complained of a sore mouth, poor poss.

From the farmers market we strolled down to the MAKERS MARKET! It was really awesome. There were stalls I recognised like Curlypops, Twiglet & Lark, and the lovely Nat at Moederkip! There were so many gorgeous things for kiddies. Mine wanted the scotty dog softies from Vintage Chenille. They got alphabet badges!

Zoe scored an ace Olivia dress from Moederkip. She chose the pink, what a surprise! It is totally a favourite. The cute pixie hood KILLS me. Too cute! She is wearing it in the above photo. I cannot rave enough about the quality of Nat’s creations.

All the stall holders were super nice and didn’t even seem to mind my uncontrollable children lying on the floor, running and asking a million questions. Thank you!

The op shop in Daylesford was lovely too. The ladies were great, and I walked out with a new favourite shirt and cardi. Both GREEN!

But my most favourite and BEST shop was of course Lark. The Lark family are so lovely and I dig that place so incredibly much. I utterly do!

Now to talk Mr Tweetheart into moving there…

Happy!!

January2

Wishing you a hip happy new year! So far it’s a goodie at our place!

Oh look, I finally visited picnik!!!!  Expect my photos to be looking much cuter, different and unusual! Thanks goes to Vic, who I finally listened to! ‘2009 - the year that was’ collage on the way. I totally recommend checking out picnik. I’m loving it compared to photoshop, which frightens me a little. Probably because I’ve never spent enough time working out how to use it. (it could have something to do with the terrible instruction at uni 10 years ago…)

Its been an action filled week here. Packing galore! Not silly fast packing, proper decluttering, going through things, sorting, labelling kind of packing. The stuff is going to be stored for 12-18 months, and we aren’t paying $215 a month to store junk!! two footrests waiting to be ‘design-sponged’? Oh yes, they’re staying. Boxes of clothes I thought went to the op shop 4 years ago? GONE. Mr Tweetheart’s old skateboarding knee pads? GONE… oh whoops, retreived from the bin. Sorry about that. LOL. Piles of magazines? GONE. There is a whole room of things that I consider GONE, but they’re actually waiting for our mega garage sale. January 10th. Be there. It’ll be a buy one, get one free type deal. Hell, maybe fill a bag for $5? A few weeks ago I was considering opening the house up ‘everything $5 each’.  Amazingly we are getting there. Two reformed, well semi-reformed hoarders, working together. We haven’t EVEN sworn at each other for DAYS. That’s the new year for you!

Oh, I have a little skirt to give away…. I’ll take a pic tomorrow. Really! xox

On the 8th? day of christmas

December19

My true love bought for meeeee…… an AMAZING & GORGEOUS BIKE!!

black-betty

I’m completely smitten. Mine is secondhand, but has only been ridden twice by the previous owner! It also has an uber cute basket on the front. Lucky me to be getting this for christmas! I’m slightly worried about it being attached to the back of the caravan…. but I can just imagine the wonderful adventures we’ll have!

Welcome to the family Betty. I wub you.

(sorry I couldn’t take a pic of my ACTUAL bike, this image from bicycle store)

On the fifth day of christmas…

December17

my true love gave to me… A DAY LOO-KING AF-TER HIM.

Firstly, I’m sorry for dropping off the edge of the blogosphere. Life has gone a bit haywire! We have renters moving in mid January and lots and lots of stuff to sort out. I’m working at a great new job and am also responsible for packing everything. Who’s crazy idea was that? Thankfully my mother has seen the mayhem and my distress and has been coming to help organise stuff. Yes, she is a gem!

So why am I looking after Mr Tweetheart today? Well this morning he well and truly ‘did’ his back. BAD. Like unable to walk or stand bad. Poor fella! So I played nurse crappy today. Fetching tablets and cold packs,  He assured me the Osteo lass he spoke to on the phone recommended panadeine forte and alcohol. Really?? “yep, to really relax my back”. I’m still not 100% convinced.

Today an exciting and wonderful PARCEL arrived from the exciting and wonderful VIC!!  Thank YOU soooooo much! You made our day. I love the japanese craft book far too much. WHY oh WHY was I not switched on to looking for these when I was in JP all those years ago? Damn hello kitty stuff, that’s what I bought *sigh*. We all tried on the sunnies and it was declared they looked the best on me! Into the glovebox they go, in preparation for the BIG TRIP. Also in the parcel was a jar of great glass beads, which I think my mum will be getting some in the form of a necklace for xmas, and some crafty extra goodies like embroidery floss and buttons, YUM! All in all a very lovely thing to recieve on a funny kind of day. Which reminds me of another awesome parcel which arrived earlier in the week…

A perfect and gorgeous and very very loved pixie from Megsie (pint)!!!! I loved M’s pixies since the first time I saw one, but they are very very difficult to buy. So much love and attention goes into these pixes, by one busy and creative mumma, they are only for sale as she makes them. Anyway, I passed on a vintage toy I picked up to Megsie. Her sis had told me that she’d had one as a child and it was very special to her. It made me happy to find the perfect owner. M had mentioned that she was making me something, but I thought it might be one of her christmas ornaments. Imagine my delight when a pixie arrived! not any pixie either, one with ginger hair and strawberry clothes and a strawberry in her hair!! Perfect! She is so beautifully made, and that felt is GREAT! I love her to bits, she is known as mummy’s special flying baby. I was tempted to put her away for christmas for Zoe, but my name was written on the card ;) and I don’t want her treated like any old toy. She is going to be trasured. For Sure.

OK, why the lack of photos? Um, I can’t locate my camera charger right now. I think I need to go and charge at my mum’s place. Sorry!

On the craft front a few little things have been happening. Clips, simple flower tawashis, a dress cut out for me, a couple of aprons. I really want to make the amigurumi jellyfish for my brother’s girlfriend. I have the pattern, yarn and hook ready to go. Now I just need the time. Anyone want to come and help me pack boxes?

Didn’t think so…

Having a ball!

November9

zoe-balls

We certainly did on the weekend! My niece Emily LOVED her mermaid tail, although wears it at the front so she can see it, very cute! The kids all adore their little matchbox doll houses, the girls aged 2, 3 & 5 thought they were the bees knees! Definitely a good little gift for little girls… Tate isn’t all that excited about his.

Summer is making an appearance here, which has taken me by surprise! Its time to dust off our summery stuff and make the most of living beside the seaside… which is where we’ll be after dinner tonight. Hurray!

Enjoy your day :)

Day 31 ~ Who loves a church fete?

October31

Meeeeeee! Along with many others, as I found out as I waited with about 30 other folks for the bell to ring signalling 9.30 this morning. I picked up a few goodies…

fete-ie furniture

This little cupboard. $10.

glassware

This glass ware, 50c a piece (cake stand, bowl & cute cherries)

orange

Orange watering can vase & teapot stand. 50c each.

simplicity

Simplicity sewing book. 20c. I now have a spare copy which is missing a few pages. If you’d like it leave me a comment :)

golden-hands

Golden Hands 60 things to sew for children. 20c

Not picured are the clothes for Zoe, a top for me, other mags and books, the delicious chocolate topped slice or the candy coloured chenille bedspread I picked up at a garage sale on the way home. The garage sale also delivered a baby teapot for the mummy teapot we already had. Introducing the ‘Carlton’ in 2 and 6 cup sizes…

teapots

I think I have a problem. I just can’t stop buying things! Mum has challenged me to get through November without op shopping. I don’t think I want to. It really brings me joy.

Incidentally it is the final day of Blogtoberfest. I consider it to have been a success. I only missed a couple of days, and am now in the ’swing’ of blogging. Don’t worry loyal readers, I shall continue my regular blogging. I rather enjoy it! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

What am I wearing today? A smile for one, the sun is shining and we’ve been out and about. Thank goodness for spring! I’m wearing a white top that I’ve had for ages and never wear. Same goes for the bracelet. Look how dry our grass is, this is after winter :(

I was thrilled to find a copy of Crochet Today in our local newsagent. This is the first time they’ve stocked it and I’m impressed. The projects within are modern and do-able. I think the crochet bug has bitten again, assisted by the woolly parcel I received in the mail from the Yarn Cafe. I adore the orangey colour, it will look gorgeous on miss Zoe, and is super soft woolganic, mmmmm. I’m saving the other one until I can knit properly (I know, I know, I just need to practise), because I find the strong colour changes look so much better knitted. I’m dreaming of being able to knit one of Tikki’s patterns, they are just beautiful.
