I make cute things

oh hi!

March9

Well this poor old blog has been abandoned for months. Time for a little bit of blog loving I think! I did just pay to renew the domain.

We are in a different house in a funny housing estate that could almost be a retirement village. Lots of oldies, very manicured lawns, no rowdiness. It is really rather relaxing. We are surrounded by water, but alas… NO SWIMMING. The canals get deep, run quickly on the tide and may possibly be home to sharks. Poo. I would really really like a canoe though.

no-swimming

On the up side, we are really close to a 5 star resort, where it appears we are welcome to swim. Yay for that, and there are pretty amazing beaches a couple of minutes up the road.

So Tate has started school! He is going really well. Loving it in fact. Their feature author for this term is Dr Seuss, who Tate assures me is pronounced ‘Dr Zeuss’. I think I know Green Eggs and Ham by heart, and Great Day for Up. He has started playing soccer too. The training is pretty hilarious and adorable to watch. Some of the kids are still at the ‘NO HANDS!’ stage, they get confused as to which way to kick etc. Tatie is pretty good, he can kick really far. He is so tall and skinny, and asks me for snacks all the time. Usually he wants cut up cucumber, cherry tomatoes and little squares of cheese. Yes, I am asked for that EVERY DAY. Tempted to buy those precut squares of cheese…

He is still as sweet as they come, showering me with love and cuddles every day. Bless.

I’ve listed a few things in the Made It shop. Little bibs, a couple of aprons and Little Miss Muffet hats.

Back soon… I promise xox

Sunny Sunday

November14

Well the Sunshine Coast lived up to it’s name today. OK, apart from one downpour early this morning, it was truly glorious.

We’ve started going to the local market again. Its a practical fruit and vegie, satay stick, trash and treasure, goldfish, secondhand crap type of market. We love it. There is even a very cute merry go round which looks like it has been ridden by a million kids. I promise to get a photo next week! (OK, I can’t promise… but one day). Our favourite buy today was… mangoes. $1 each, hooray!

mango2

I am a HUGE mango fan. I love them. I really do! I think Zoe has inherited the love.

Guess What??? Mr Tweetheart, who so rarely buys me flowers (shame!) snuck off to buy these. Cute huh?

And he surprised me at work last week with a pink iced cupcake. He is totally in the good books!

Its so lovely to be able to do things together on the weekends. This was so tricky when running a caravan park.

Craft wise? Um, well I made this single birdie brooch. He is for a special order, yep I do those! I’m about to cut out a few aprons for christmas presents. Big girl ones for our big girl friends and nieces. I do hope you have had a delightful and productive weekend!

shiny and new

October1

The first day of the month feels promising. New beginnings and all that.

Vic is taking part in Blogtoberfest. I did join in last year, it was fun! I’m wondering whether I should join in again. I’m finding it hard to find the time to blog at the moment, now I’m a working gal. Work does have its perks, like the money, the folks I get to talk to and the clothes. Oh the clothes! I work in a clothing exchange. We carry sale stock from the fancy boutique up the road, and also sell items on consignment. I rarely get a chance to go shopping alone these days, so my wardrobe is slowly filling with clothes from work. Here is my latest favourite outfit…

new-outfit

Lisa Ho top, love love love this. 2nd hand it cost me $30. ‘Flower’ silk skirt with soft knit waistband $50. I especially love this because it didn’t fit me when it first came in. I tried it on again yesterday and it fit! What a great feeling. Those salad lunches must be paying off.

The shoes are from the local op shop and cost me $4.50.  The necklace was a birthday pressie from my new BFF. It came with a little tin of vintage buttons. Perfect? I think so. Blessed is me? Yes. I feel so lucky to have found my new friend. In fact I feel a whole post about her happening really soon.

Spring. The perfect opportunity to find a lovely new outfit, or even a great new friend. I hope you can too.

Let’s go fly a kite!

my creative space

June17

Hi! How are you today? We’re good here. Zoe is busy washing things in a bucket of soapy water, my cheeky way of getting her dirty fingernails clean! Tate is pestering me to play mini golf. Yes, yes.

My creative space is pretty small, so I’ve been making small things. A little bit of crochet…

Whoa

March12

It has been a funny few weeks. We came back from a 5 night trip to Noosa on Tuesday Night. I spent Wednesday in my PJs, only half dressing to run down to the oppy. I returned with a sunshine yellow chenille bedspread, a magnet Eric Carle game and a few newish mags. Yesterday I worked and today has been a little ho hum.

feb-kids-sticks

So Noosa? Not entirely my bag. Especially when raining and the waves are brown and churning up dirty foam. BUT the wedding we went up for was GORGEOUS, AMAZING, INSPIRING and just PER-FECT. Completely perfect. The Bride really looked ‘a million bucks’. As someone sitting behind me said “she looks straight out of a magazine”. She did. So did the bridesmaids. Beautiful! Tate called them princesses. All three were blonde and stunning. I must say Mr Tweetheart scrubbed up rather nicely himself.

Tate very proudly wore a red tie. Zoe wore her pettiskirt. Oh my! So many people commented how cute the kids were on the way to the wedding. Well one child in particular, I don’t think I need to name names! We walked there along the boardwalk.

After the ceremony I took photos of the kids. Lots of photos. Well, they were running away from the festivities, and honestly I find small talk and mingling with people I don’t know so well pretty hard. So frolicking about with my camera in one hand and a glass of champers in the other was great!

Most of the time those pesky children refused to look at the camera.

They loved the professional sandcastle builder. Tate couldn’t understand why he wasn’t allowed to help! Bless.

What else can I report? I purchased a very expensive although PERFECT bra. Finally I’m wearing underwire again, and loving it. We went for big walks, saw a large snake in a tree, ate alot of ice cream and enjoyed the pool. Yeah, we had a good time. I promise I will NEVER ever agree to travelling with carry on luggage only EVER AGAIN.

I did crochet that Roselette top. How cute it is! I will share some pics once I’ve sewn on the buttons etc.

xoxo

Loving…

Delightful Daylesford

February15

I know I was there a whole week ago, which seems like a long time BUT isn’t!

We had such an awesome time. We stayed at Jubilee Lake Caravan Park which is just gorgeous. There’s a lake complete with ducks, heaps of lillies and canoes to hire.

There are TONNES of Blackberries, ready to pick! I was assured they hadn’t been sprayed, so pick we did! YUM.

berry-bush

There are birds to feed! Rosellas, cockys, ducks and Peacocks all visited our caravan for some seed and bread.

Zoe was so patient and quiet. Her brother struggled in the keeping quiet department.

red

On Saturday we got up early and visited the farmers market. Tate ate a WHOLE red capsicum on the way around. Bless him. He then complained of a sore mouth, poor poss.

From the farmers market we strolled down to the MAKERS MARKET! It was really awesome. There were stalls I recognised like Curlypops, Twiglet & Lark, and the lovely Nat at Moederkip! There were so many gorgeous things for kiddies. Mine wanted the scotty dog softies from Vintage Chenille. They got alphabet badges!

Zoe scored an ace Olivia dress from Moederkip. She chose the pink, what a surprise! It is totally a favourite. The cute pixie hood KILLS me. Too cute! She is wearing it in the above photo. I cannot rave enough about the quality of Nat’s creations.

All the stall holders were super nice and didn’t even seem to mind my uncontrollable children lying on the floor, running and asking a million questions. Thank you!

The op shop in Daylesford was lovely too. The ladies were great, and I walked out with a new favourite shirt and cardi. Both GREEN!

But my most favourite and BEST shop was of course Lark. The Lark family are so lovely and I dig that place so incredibly much. I utterly do!
