For fail, flunk, fooey. Blogtoberfest was a wipe out for little tweetheart this year. Once I fell off the wagon I couldn’t get back on. Apologies to anyone who rubbed their hands together with glee when I announced my participation in Blogtoberfest, a month of posting every single day. I failed you.
October for our crew was rather busy, and at times full on. To give you a run down… there was the birthday of Mr T, the ghost of Margaret in our house who required a visit from the local psychics, my newly acquired and I hope to be short lived cola addiction, trips in the boat, chins badly injured in scooter accidents, house hunting, market stalls, Mr T travelling for work, a BAD haircut (mine) which has resulted in the wearing of all manners of head scarf.

We have had visits from cute frogs, annoying ants, numerous beetles and gratefully few spiders. Mr T bought a chopper. So did his bff.

It needs a new paint job, but I must admit it is pretty cool. We sold our caravan! Tate was stung by a bluebottle at the beach (was that October?)

Um, what else? I surely picked up some cute dresses at the oppy and bought some tan in a can.
OK, I’ll stop now. Did I mention our computer lives on top of the washing machine? Very uncomfortable and not conducive to blogging. For real.
Melbourne Cup day tomorrow! Can’t wait for a squizz at the dresses

So Blogtoberfest. Anyone can join in you know, it isn’t too late! Head on over to Tinniegirl’s place to join in.
Blogtoberfest means giveaways, lots of bloggy giveaways! I will be doing some giveaways too. Curlypops keeps a list of giveaways on her blog, there is lots of cool stuff up for grabs, so be sure to enter!

Yesterday I was lucky to have a few hours to myself. The rest of the family were otherwise occupied with football watching at a friend’s place and playing with the boy over the road.
So I attempted my first Enid. A pattern from Enid Gilchrist that is. The Pretty Pinnie.

This is how far I got… I just need to neaten the top of the zip and add the bias to the sleeves and she’s done. I used some old sheet fabric as my practice run.

I think next time I’ll make a lining to avoid the bias, and maybe snaps at the back instead of the zip. I have seen Enid expert Tracy do this
See my laptop hiding in the corner of the photo? It lives on the washing machine. The only place in the house we can get wireless. The poor laptop now sits on some non slip rubber stuff, after she fell of during a spin cycle and sustained minor injuries. Nice!

So we had our first market stall last weekend. It was great! I’m afraid the photos I took were a bit crappy, which I blame on the nasty hang over and bad lighting. Here is a dribble bib on display. I hung a few on a mug tree I bought at Howards Storage World. They fit perfectly.

Body Glitters from Sunshine ‘n’ Lollipops!

I wanted bunting flags for the ‘little tweetheart’ name. Of course I ran out of time so I went on the hunt for printable paper bunting. There are some cute ones to be found on Etsy. Like this Alice in Wonderland theme…

I went with the FREE alphabet bunting found on the Ruffled blog.

I also printed up some Vintage Hanky Love Letters to use as price signs. A great free download from eat drink chic

I joined blogtoberfest too. Eeeek! A post every day? Let’s see if I can do it! I promise more photos of our next market stall. xox

The first day of the month feels promising. New beginnings and all that.
Vic is taking part in Blogtoberfest. I did join in last year, it was fun! I’m wondering whether I should join in again. I’m finding it hard to find the time to blog at the moment, now I’m a working gal. Work does have its perks, like the money, the folks I get to talk to and the clothes. Oh the clothes! I work in a clothing exchange. We carry sale stock from the fancy boutique up the road, and also sell items on consignment. I rarely get a chance to go shopping alone these days, so my wardrobe is slowly filling with clothes from work. Here is my latest favourite outfit…

Lisa Ho top, love love love this. 2nd hand it cost me $30. ‘Flower’ silk skirt with soft knit waistband $50. I especially love this because it didn’t fit me when it first came in. I tried it on again yesterday and it fit! What a great feeling. Those salad lunches must be paying off.

The shoes are from the local op shop and cost me $4.50. The necklace was a birthday pressie from my new BFF. It came with a little tin of vintage buttons. Perfect? I think so. Blessed is me? Yes. I feel so lucky to have found my new friend. In fact I feel a whole post about her happening really soon.

Spring. The perfect opportunity to find a lovely new outfit, or even a great new friend. I hope you can too.

Meeeeeee! Along with many others, as I found out as I waited with about 30 other folks for the bell to ring signalling 9.30 this morning. I picked up a few goodies…

This little cupboard. $10.

This glass ware, 50c a piece (cake stand, bowl & cute cherries)

Orange watering can vase & teapot stand. 50c each.

Simplicity sewing book. 20c. I now have a spare copy which is missing a few pages. If you’d like it leave me a comment

Golden Hands 60 things to sew for children. 20c
Not picured are the clothes for Zoe, a top for me, other mags and books, the delicious chocolate topped slice or the candy coloured chenille bedspread I picked up at a garage sale on the way home. The garage sale also delivered a baby teapot for the mummy teapot we already had. Introducing the ‘Carlton’ in 2 and 6 cup sizes…

I think I have a problem. I just can’t stop buying things! Mum has challenged me to get through November without op shopping. I don’t think I want to. It really brings me joy.
Incidentally it is the final day of Blogtoberfest. I consider it to have been a success. I only missed a couple of days, and am now in the ’swing’ of blogging. Don’t worry loyal readers, I shall continue my regular blogging. I rather enjoy it! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Now I must admit that I took part in some tidying and vacuuming before taking these photos… Here is my uninspiring BLOG HQ, which is also Mr T’s toy room. Hence the pristine surfboards, golf clubs and fishing gear.

I did throw my new rainbow cloth over the ugly but comfortable ex-caravan park chair. The sesame street pencil tin has been hanging around since I bought it in Japan in ‘99, the little sleeping creatures are from the same time in my life. I love that this space is at the furtherest end of the house. I can sneak in here and it takes the kids some time to find me. When they do find me they are entertained with a staple remover each and a piece of scrap paper. Endless fun snapping at each other with those staple removers… and only one injury so far.
Now get over to Pip’s for far more exciting places

Ha! I tricked you with that title. Well, kind of. We did go to the beach today, and I did buy a rainbow or two at the op shop. This morning Tateb had his first look at kinder for next year. I’m pretty sure it got the thumbs up from him, running, jumping, playing with other boys, checking out the guinea pigs, using fluoro playdough. The list goes on. An ice cream bribe was required to get my children out of there without screaming. Unfortunately for Tatie, this is the best photo I took of him… he he.

After kinder it was time for a trip to the cafe that sells ice creams for the kids, and a foccacia for moi. Then onto the op shop. Thankfully a kind man was manning the desk today. He was very tolerant and kind and even showed me a top that still had the $70 tag on! Pity it was tiny, and not really my style. I tried it on anyway. I did make a couple of purchases, a rainbow silk scarf/sarong/square that is bright and lovely. Also a rainbow spotted top, that is a bit big and unusual but I like the fabric. whoopsie! Oh, and a couple of children’s books (as usual).

And THEN, we went to the beach. Of course we weren’t planning on going to the beach. There were no towel or bathers, but like the other kids, there was swimming in undies!

see you tomorrow for the final day of blogtoberfest!!

Well my creative space is very very messy. But here’s a little snippet… a pattern picked up today at the oppy, which has inspired me to make a little pinny for a brand new baby girl. The pattern is for a 6 month size, which is pretty sensible. I’ve seen this baby’s wardrobe and it is rather extensive in the smaller sizes!

Because it looked pretty, a tin of rick rack. That gold might come in handy for a christmas project, now I just need to think of one.

And now for my next give-away… this size 2 reversible pinnie.

Some of the fabric is a little bit vintage, as is the pattern. I will do the buttons, and I’ll make a matching headband before I post it

Just leave a comment on this post before Midnight on Monday to be in the draw.
More creative spaces over at Kootoyoo xoxo

Thanks to my lovely Mum (I think I’ve mentioned her before)… I have a great new pair of sandals! Incidentally it was my mum who bought my favourite boots… spoilt? maybe.

They are leather and soft and comfortable and soft and comfortable. With a slight heel for my high arches (bet you didn’t need to know THAT!). Sure, they are kinda sensible, but I’m at that age & stage you know? I hope you don’t think my toes are wierd or my feet are gross or something. I didn’t think they were so pale! Here’s an outdoor shot…

I’ve had a great day today with a bunch of fabbo ladies coming over for cuppa/lunch/play. It was ace being around like-minded people, you know, people who understand why there’s stuff all over the dining table. There were three other girls around Zoe’s age, too cute!
Here’s an update on the strawberries, they are still alive despite Zoe’s best efforts to rip her brother’s plant. Little devil! The gremlin peering in the corner is Mr Tweetheart, bless him. They’re our bins in the background. noice.

Every cat I’ve known and loved has enjoyed sitting on a hot water service. Indi is no exception.

I hope you don’t find the different sized photos annoying. Let me know if you do and I’ll try harder next time! Sorry I haven’t announced the next give-away yet, I’ll do it tomorrow!
Ciao for now xox
October27
Vic!! There will be some extra goodies too… let me know your address and I’ll get it posted!

The little space bib from last night is winging it’s way to Steffi.
I’ll be back soon with this week’s give-away, I’m thinking it could be a little bit vintage. Stay tuned. xox
